Bharathanatyam is a way of life – An art form that transcends cultural and lingual barriers and communicates in a language devoid of mysticism.
She is carving a niche for herself by exploring hitherto unexplored facets of this divine art within the norms and boundaries of cultural tradition. As a Gold Medalist from late honourable president Sri.Sankar Dhayal Sharma, Bharathanatyam is what she breathes. It is not a mere passion, but what she calls her life and soul. Initiated into the art at the tender age of five she learnt under various gurus. People like Kalaimamani Smt. Sarasa & Natanamamani Srimathi. Geetha Navaneethan, have been her guiding light on this path into the world of dance.
Under the tutelage of Srimathi.Parvathy Ravi Gandasala she is one of the prime disciples of Kalapradharshini. Always a student despite having given numerous public performances, she fine-tuned her skills of abhinaya from Padmavibushan Smt.Kalanidhi Narayan. She is also trained under the guidance of Bagavatulu Sri Seetharama Sharma and Sri.Madurai R. Muralidharan for her nattuvangam skills. 1984 marked the first milestone of her debut public performance and there has been no looking back since. She performed in several prestigious events including The Natyanjali Festival at Chidambaram and Perur,Tamilnadu.As a growing Artist Karthika Devi Ganesh won accolades notably the talent promotion competition organized by Tamil-Nadu Iyal,Isai,Nadagamadram ,Chennai Doordarshan kendra ,Chennai has acknowledged her as a state level Bharatanatyam Artist .Personification and poise is what marks her presentation of this fine dance form. Several critics have acclaimed her stage presence, her Dance productions, her nattuvangam, cholkattu and footwork abilities. With a master’s degree in English Literature and Mass communication she strives to blend her abilities in the right proportion to carve a niche for her self as a classical Program Producer and the Director of the Clas sical shows at Jaya Tv, News Producer and News Reader in Sun Tv ,Vijay Tv and Zee News. An active participant in various programs presented by Kalaimamani Smt. Parvathy Ravi Gandasala ,and Kalaimamani Smt.Geetha Navaneethan, her repertoire includes performing at various cultural organizations in India, And in the past she has graced many a lead role in her gurus’ dance ballets and projects.
